Board Games, Tuesdays, 5:00-8:00 PM. For teens and adults. Come play a variety of board games in our historic front room. Feel free to bring a game you’d like to teach others.

“Last of the Granite State Rattlesnakes,” Wednesday, March 26, 7:00 PM: Historian and former newspaper reporter Dan Billin will present vivid, little-known stories and images from our centuries-long war on our rattlesnakes. Billin will review what is and isn’t being done today to conserve our rattlesnakes, and the many obstacles to their survival. This program is made possible through a grant from New Hampshire Humanities.
“Loving Vincent” film and art activity, Saturday, March 29, 13, 1:00 - 3:30 pm. Arts Council of Tamworth is partnering with Cook Memorial Library to present a free screening of Loving Vincent, a beautiful film about the life and death of painter Vincent van Gogh that was animated entirely through oil paintings. Included with the film will be free snacks and a "Make-Your-Own-van-Gogh" watercolor activity. The film is rated PG-13.

“Trips, Slips, Oops!” Learn About Fall Prevention, Wednesday, April 2 at 11:00 AM at the library. Joann Vasconcellos PT will discuss major fall risks, how physical therapists assess patients, and steps you can take to prevent future falls. Co-hosted by Cook Memorial Library and Tamworth Community Nurse Association.
When We Just Can’t Do the Thing, Wednesday, April 2 at 6:30 PM: Join Polly Mahoney for a discussion about why we tend to stand in our own way when it comes to doing things that we know would be helpful, and how we can try something different to move ourselves forward.
Take a reading road trip! Northern NH Library Cooperative celebrates National Library Week April 6-12 by welcoming visitors at open houses at each member library. If you have a Cook Memorial Library card, you are welcome to check out most items at our partner libraries. Each library will give away a special bookmark on their day. Go collect all five!

Earth Day activity - Knit a washable/reusable dishcloth/washcloth, Tuesday, April 22, 3:00-5:00 PM: Join Tamworth Recycling Project’s Maud Anderson, along with other crafty volunteers, and learn how to knit or crochet a washcloth. We will teach kids (10 and up), teens, and adults. If you are an experienced knitter or crocheter, please come help teach! We’re using cotton yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks that were part of our Craft Supplies Swap. If you have cotton yarn you’re not using, please donate it for this project.
Brown Bag Book Group, Monday, April 28, 1:00 PM: Bring a bag lunch and come discuss Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke. Copies of the book can be borrowed from the library ahead of time.
